A trivia game where Android and iPhone play together
Every group has both: someone with an iPhone, someone with a Samsung, someone with whatever was on sale. Many party games quietly assume everyone has the same phone, or one big shared screen. BrainMesh does not.
Why cross-platform party quizzes are rare
- Pass-the-phone games run on a single device, so only one person plays at a time.
- Online quiz apps do work across platforms, but match you with strangers or need everyone online and logged in.
- TV and console party games need a big screen and a shared Wi-Fi network, and often a companion app per player.
- Local multiplayer over Apple's or Google's own tech (AirDrop-style or Nearby features) usually works only within one ecosystem.
BrainMesh uses plain Bluetooth Low Energy, which every modern Android phone and iPhone supports, and its own small mesh protocol on top. That is why a Pixel, a Galaxy and an iPhone can sit in the same game.
How it works
- Everyone installs BrainMesh from Google Play or the App Store.
- Bluetooth on, no Wi-Fi or mobile data needed.
- One player creates a game. The others tap “Join” and see it in the list, whatever phone the host has.
- Up to 8 players get the same question at the same moment, with one shared timer.
What you play
- Classic quiz, Sort it, Pairs and a Speed round, with a category vote before classic rounds.
- Pranks: freeze a friend's screen, cover their answers with bubbles or shuffle them.
- A final where everyone bets points on whether a friend answers right.
- More than 4,200 questions in English and 4,500 in Russian.
Each player's interface follows their own phone language, while the questions come from the host, so everybody in the game gets the same ones.
